4.1 ENTRY INTO THE MAINTENANCE MODE

To make the machine enter the maintenance mode:
(1) Open the paper compartment cover. The PAPER LED comes on.
(2) Hold down the following two keys at the same time for at least 15 seconds:
- COPY ALL and FEED keys or
- COPY and FEED keys
Which key combination should be selected depends upon the maintenance-mode functions
you want to access.
The ERROR LED flashes.
When the PAPER LED is on and the ERROR LED is flashing, the machine is in the initial stage of
the maintenance mode.
To select one of the maintenance-mode functions listed in Section 4.2, keep the paper
compartment cover opened or close it (depending upon the maintenance-mode functions you want
to access) and then press the specified key. The details of each maintenance-mode function are
described in Section 4.3.
To make the machine exit from the maintenance mode:
(1) Close the paper compartment cover.
(2) Press the FEED key in the initial stage of the maintenance mode. The machine will return to
the regular operation mode.
NOTE: If no keys are pressed for 10 seconds in the initial stage of the maintenance mode, the
machine will automatically exit from the maintenance mode and return to the regular operation
mode.
