• If you replace the CIS unit set, set the scanning compensation parameters stored in the
EEPROM (Function code 55) as described in Subsection 4.3.1.
• When securing the upper support frame to the side frames, sandwich the spacers between
them as shown on page III-22.
• Once the CIS protector is removed, the CIS clamp on the protector should be replaced with a
new one.
Before setting the removed CIS protector back into place, remove the current CIS clamp. After
securing the CIS protector, attach a new CIS clamp instead, taking care not to let the new CIS
clamp protrude from the rear edge of the CIS protector.
• When securing the upper cover, temporarily tighten the three shoulder screws (shown on page
III-22), center the upper cover relative to the corner covers, and then firmly tighten those
screws.
