The 1600 DSL Module
Supported in Release 4.0 and later systems, the
1600 DSL module provides 16 lines, even though it
contains only one line jack. The 1600 DSL module
provides Symmetrical Digital Subscriber Line
(SDSL) and router capabilities.
Besides the RJ-45 port used to connect the central
office line to the 1600 DSL module, three other ports
exist on the module (see
A 10/100BaseT Ethernet RJ-45 port used to
connect a LAN to the 1600 DSL module. After
the initial module configuration has been done,
you can also program the 1600 DSL module
over a LAN connected to this port.
A Console serial port used for configuring the
1600 DSL module locally using a PC.
A V.35 port used to connect external equipment,
such as an external router.
