The USB port on a J-EX Series switch accepts a USB flash drive. All USB flash drives used
on the switches must have the following features:
USB 2.0 or later.
Formatted with a FAT or MS-DOS file system.
CAUTION: The use of any USB memory product not supported for J-EX Series
switches could expose your switch to unpredictable behavior. Dell can provide
only limited support for issues related to unsupported hardware. We strongly
recommend that you use only supported USB flash drives.

The console port on a J-EX Series switch is an RS-232 serial interface that uses an RJ-45
connector to connect to a console management device. The default baud rate for the
console port is 9600 baud.
Table 26 on page 50 provides the pinout information for the RJ-45 console connector.
An RJ-45 cable and an RJ-45 to DB-9 serial port adapter are supplied with the switch.
