Print Jobs
To complete this step of the lab:
1. For each computer, open the printer Properties and
generate a test page. For example, click "Print Test
Page" as shown in the example to the right.
2. Use a common application such as Microsoft
Word
®
to generate jobs using the following printer
features (if available):
Select paper from Tray 1 and Tray 2
Two-sided printing (multi-page document)
Booklet printing (multi-page document)
Fast Color print-quality mode
Proof or Personal Print
Use the Xerox Support Centre
An Internet connection is required to access web-based resources using the
Xerox Support Centre for Phaser 8500 and 8550 printers.
1. If you installed a Phaser 8500 or 8550 printer driver, use
the shortcut icon on the computer desktop to open the
Xerox Support Centre utility.
2. Use the Xerox Support Centre to perform the following
tasks (no Internet connection required):
Use the "Supplies" tab to view information about the
supported paper
Use the "My Printer" tab to view the printer driver settings
Remove the paper from Tray 2 and view the Tray 2 status
indicator (left side of "Printer Status" area)
3. If an Internet connection is available, use the Xerox Support Centre to perform the following tasks:
Use the "My Printer" tab to launch CentreWare IS
Use the "My Printer" tab to view the service offerings for this printer
Use the "Troubleshooting" tab to launch the PhaserSMART troubleshooting tool
