The surface must be level within 0.5 inches or 1.2 centimeters.

1. To print envelopes with side flaps from Tray 1:
The correct position for the flap is face up and to the left.
2. To print letterhead on one side from Tray 2:
Position the logo face up and toward the front of the tray.

1. On November 11, 2003, a customer explains that their printer is using too much ink. The printer's
warranty period began August 30, 2003. Based on the Printer Status Page, what advice would you
offer the customer?
The printhead has been cleaned 51 times and the power has been cycled 122 times. Explain that the
customer should leave their printer turned on.
2. On October 29, 2003, a customer contacts you regarding print-quality problems caused by their
Standard-Capacity Maintenance Kit. Use the information on the Printer Status Page to determine
if the kit has failed during the warranty period.
The Maintenance Kit has generated just 1570 pages and was installed on August 27, 2003. In this
example, replace the kit under warranty because it failed to produce 10,000 pages or to last at least
90 days from installation.
3. Is average ink coverage during the last 30 days greater than or less than 20%?
Because the coverage for each color is <5%, the total coverage is less than 20%. Total coverage
equals the sum of the percent coverage for each color.
