Replace Parts

Customers can replace printer components, including the Pick Roller/Retard Roller and the Front
Door with the MPT. These parts are packaged as replacement kits that include an instruction
sheet for installation. To complete this section, use the Resources section of the training
CD-ROM to view the following instruction sheets:

Then, review the following hints and tips for replacing each assembly.
Feed Roller Kit
The Feed Roller Kit provides a new Pick Roller and
Retard Roller for the 525-Sheet Tray. A new roller may
be required if paper jams occur frequently when printing
from Trays 2, 3, or 4. When installing the kit, observe the
following practices:
Completely remove the media tray.
Be sure to replace the 525-Sheet Tray's Retard
Roller.
Locate the Pick Roller release lever inside the
tray cavity (see the following example).
Pull forward on the lever. Note the orientation
of the Pick Roller as it rotates downward.
Before pulling down on the assembly to remove it, carefully examine how it snaps into place.
To install the replacement pick assembly:
Carefully align the assembly with the
mounting slots.
Push up to snap the roller into place.
Rotate the assembly toward the rear of the
printer until you hear the securing latch
engage the assembly. When installed
properly, both rollers are facing down.
