Configuration Backup and Restore
System Guide
The Backup Configuration option enables the Administrator to
store some or all of the user-configurable settings on the Xerox
FreeFlow Print Server. The Restore Configuration option enables
the Administrator to select all or a subset of categories of user-
configurable settings that are restorable from a configuration
archive.
NOTE: The Backup option is for back up ONLY; it is NOT for
Restore. The Administrator must access a separate option for the
restore operations.
The backup configuration allows for fast and efficient saving of
user settings. XEROX recommends that you backup (save) your
configuration under the following circumstances:
•
Upon completion of the initial configuration
•
Whenever user-configurable properties, such as queue or
printer properties, change
The Configuration Backup option enables you to select among
categories like the following:
•
Queues
•
User accounts
•
Network Setups
•
Stock Database/Tray mapping
•
Stacker/Finisher settings
•
LCDS Resources
•
ICC Profiles/User TRCs
Ideally, you should minimally backup your configuration at weekly
intervals. Jobs can be backed up using the Print From File
feature.
CAUTION: The FreeFlow Print Server retains job ticket
information as well as color information for each job.
NOTE: See Online Help for detailed procedures.
