J-4 Envelope Feeder
<Possible causes>
1. The recommended envelopes are not being used.
Action: Advise the customer to use the recommended envelopes.
2. Too many envelopes in the envelope feeder
Action: Tell the customer not to over load the envelope feeder with envelopes.
3. The envelope guide is pressing against the envelopes.
Action: Advise the customer not to set the envelope guide too close to the envelopes.
4. Envelope feeder rollers are worn or deformed.
Action: Replace any worn or deformed envelope feeder rollers.
5. The envelope feeder roller does not rotate when a print is being made.
Action: Make a check using the steps of M-19 "No Paper Pick-up from Envelope Feeder".
J-5 Paper Deck
<Possible causes>
1. Paper is not correctly loaded in the paper deck.
Action: Reload correctly.
2. The side and end guides are not inserted correctly. (For example, when feeding A4 size
paper, if the end paper guide has not been inserted the paper deck presumes that A3 paper is
to be fed, causing a paper jam due to a difference in timing.
Action: Insert the guides correctly.
3. Paper is folded.
Action: Replace the paper.
4. More paper than the specified amount is loaded in the paper deck.
Action: Advise the customer to load the correct amount of paper.
5. Pick-up, separation or feed roller worn or deformed.
Action: Replace if worn or deformed. Be sure to replace the separation and feed rollers
together.
6. Paper deck pick-up roller not rotating during printing.
Action: Check according to instructions in M-20 "No paper pick-up form Paper Deck".
