VII. OPTION CONTROL SYSTEM
A. Option Controller
1. Outline
To use the paper deck installed to the printer, the option controller needs to be attached to the
printer. The option controller is a 16-bit microcomputer (CPU: IC101) that controls serial
communication with the video controller and serial communication with the paper deck.
The option controller controls the paper deck according to the various commands and signals
sent from the video controller and signals sent from the DC controller.
Figure 2-7-2 shows a block diagram of option controller.
