Removing or Replacing a PCI Hot Plug Expansion
Board
1. Open the top access door.
2. Use the PCI Hot Plug Button or software application to turn power off
to the slot. The green LED will flash during the power down transition
and will turn off when power down is complete. For details of PCI Hot
Plug LED indicators, see "PCI Hot Plug LEDs" earlier in this chapter.
CAUTION: DO NOT open the slot release lever unless the slot's green PCI Hot
Plug LED indicator is off. System power down and subsequent data loss could
occur.
3. When the slot's green LED is off, disconnect cables to the PCI board.
4. Open the slot release lever and the L-shaped slot keeper.
5. Remove or replace the board.
6. If only removing the board, install an expansion slot cover.
7. If replacing the board, connect the cables to the PCI board.
8. Close the slot release lever. Ensure that the lever latches into the closed
position.
9. If replacing, return power to the slot through the PCI Hot Plug Button or
application. The green LED will flash during the power up transition
and will turn on when power up is complete. For details on PCI Hot
Plug LED indicators, see "PCI Hot Plug LEDs" earlier in this chapter.
10. Close the top access panel.
