A Logic Unit determines if a violation has occurred and if an alert needs to be
generated. A Logic Unit contains the algorithm that a sentry uses to monitor your
network for suspicious behavior. You can use Logic Units to create custom
sentries. You must apply a Logic Unit to a package through the package panel. For

To create a Logic Unit:
In the Administration Console, click the System Configuration tab.
The System Configuration panel appears.
Click the Sentries icon.
The Sentries window appears.
From the View By drop-down list box, select Object.
The Sentry Objects menu tree appears.
From the menu tree, select Sentry Objects > Logic Units.
The Logic Unit List appears.
Click Create New Logic Unit.
The Create New Logic Unit panel appears.
