Alert — The second highest warning level. An alert log is saved if there is a serious device malfunction,

such as all device features being down.
Critical — The third highest warning level. A critical log is saved if a critical device malfunction
•
occurs, for example, two device ports are not functioning, while the rest of the device ports remain
functional.
Error — A device error has occurred, such as if a port is offline.

• Warning — The lowest level of a device warning.
• Notice — Provides the network administrators with device information.
• Informational — Provides device information.
• Debug — Provides detailed information about the log. Debugging should only be entered by qualified
support personnel.
The check boxes appear under the following three columns:
• Console — Logs sent to the console.
• RAM Logs — Logs sent to the (Cache) RAM.
• Log File — Logs sent to the File (FLASH).
Enabling Logs
1. Open the Global Settings page.
2. Select Enable in the Logging drop-down menu.
3. Use the check boxes to select log type and severity.
Note: When you select a severity level, all higher severity levels are automatically selected.
4. Click Apply Changes.
The log settings are saved, and the device is updated.
