The cable shielding must not be interrupted.
The cables should be kept as short as possible.
Route cables using grounded, metal cable trays or cable ducts. Sections of cable tray or ducts must
be connected together with as large areas as possible.
Digital signal cables should have the shield connected at both ends.
The use of screened twisted pair cables is recommended for analog and data wires.
Do not make any insulation resistance tests on any part of the VFD: test can damage the converter. Every
VFD has been tested for insulation between live parts and the chassis at the factory.
7.1 Power Connections
7.1.1
RCD
A Residual Current Device (RCD) protection is recommended for protection against indirect contact (IEC 60755).
Type B devices only must be selected, in order to detect both ac and dc fault currents. A and AC type RCDs
are not suitable with inverters. Due to the integrated EMI filter, the choice of an RCD with a rated residual
operating current of at least 300 mA is recommended. Protection against direct contact with live parts is achieved
by the inverter enclosure.
7.1.2
EMI Filter
The inverter integrates an EMI suppression filter. However, it is recommended to install an additional external
EMI filter in order to guarantee compliance with EMC standards.
Suggested external EMI filter: TDK EPCOS B84143B0600S080
