Section 7: IT

IT: Ethernet/IP Network

IntelliCom and the Potter fire panels connect directly or through a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet wired connection.

IT: IntelliCom/IntelliView Network Bandwidth

IntelliCom Advanced Gateway is a low bandwidth system. Actual bandwidth usage will depend on the number of devices and
panel activity. A worst-case system with 1000 Panels will use 11 kbps.

IT: IP Addresses

The IntelliCom Advanced Gateway and fire panels can use a static IP address or DHCP. Using static IP addresses will reduce
the risk of communication problems. Potter requires an IP latency of less than 200ms.

IT: Cybersecurity

The IntelliCom Advanced Gateway has encrypted communications as follows:
Communication Information
Potter Fire Panel to IntelliCom: Unencrypted XML
IntelliCom Advanced Gateway to Potter PCC: 256 Bit AES encryption
IntelliCom Advanced Gateway to Potter IntelliView: 256 Bit AES encryption
Data from the Potter PCC to the central station is typically unencrypted as required by the central station
