Maintenance work

6.3.1

Connecting tubes

Maintenance in accordance with the BetrSichV (Ordinance on
industrial safety and health) applicable in Germany is recom-
mended. In addition, locally applicable regulations and guide-
lines must be observed. This means performing the following
checks:
Before every use
Visual inspection for external damage
Correct assembly
Free movement of the plug nipple of the opening mecha-
nism (by coupling and uncoupling several times)
CAUTION
Risk of injury and of damage to equipment.
There is a risk of injury from the tube releasing and lashing out
if it is not secured properly or if an incorrect pressure range is
used.
► Adhere to the permitted pressure range for the tube and
do not exceed this range.
► The tube must also be secured to prevent it from lashing
out.
► Wear ear protection during all work.
Also verify that air can pass freely through the tube. For ex-
ample, this can be done by attaching the hose to a suitable
breathing air supply and testing the free flow of breathing
air through the hose.
Monthly
Seal integrity of the compression connections
Every 10 years
X
Dräger recommends replacing the tube every 10 years
even if it successfully passes the tests listed above.

Transport and storage

Secure the EBS against slipping during storage or transport.
Store all parts dry, cool and in a dust-free location where there
is no risk of deformation. Protect against direct sunlight and
heat. Observe national regulations and standards for the stor-
age, maintenance, and cleaning of rubber products.
8

Disposal

When disposing of the product, different types of waste need
to be dealt with. A distinction must be made between hazard-
ous and non-hazardous waste, which must be disposed of in
accordance with locally applicable rules and regulations.
9

Marking

WARNING
Do not remove or modify the safety markings on the product.
Replace damaged or lost safety markings immediately with
replacements that are true to the originals.
