Safety-relevant information

1.1

Basic safety instructions

Before using the product, carefully read the instructions for
use and those for the associated products.
Strictly follow the instructions for use! The user must fully
understand and strictly observe the instructions. Use the
product only for the purposes specified in the intended use
section of this document.
Do not throw away instructions for use. Ensure proper stor-
age and use by the user.
Only trained and competent users are permitted to use this
product.
Do not use a faulty or incomplete product. Do not modify
the product.
Notify Dräger in the event of any component fault or failure.
Comply with all local and national rules and regulations as-
sociated with this product.
Only trained and competent personnel are permitted to in-
spect, repair and service the product. Dräger recommends
a Dräger service contract for all maintenance activities and
that all repairs are carried out by Dräger.
Use only genuine Dräger spare parts and accessories.
Otherwise, there is a risk of the product functioning incor-
rectly.

Product-related safety instructions

Hazard-free attachment to electrical devices
Electrical connection to devices not mentioned in these in-
structions for use only following consultation with the manufac-
turers or an expert.
Not for operation in explosion-hazard areas
This product is nether approved nor certified for operation in
explosion-hazard areas.
No manipulation of components under pressure
Pressurized components, such as hoses, may come unfas-
tened suddenly due to manipulation and the associated pres-
sure surge may cause potentially fatal injuries.
Any work on components can only be carried out in a vent-
ed (depressurized) condition.
Always open and close the valves slowly in all given proce-
dures.
Never unfasten or tighten tubes and pipe screw connec-
tions under pressure.
No combination of different coupling types
It is only permitted to use EBS components with the original
quick couplings of the same type.
It is not permitted to combine different quick coupling types
and models.
Incorrect combinations may result in reduced performance
and unsafe connections.

The following warning signs are used in this document to iden-
tify and highlight associated warning texts that require greater
attention from the user. A definition of the meaning of each
alert message is as follows:
WARNING
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation. If not avoided, it
could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation. If not avoided, it
could result in physical injury. May also be used as a warning
against improper use.
NOTICE
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation. If not avoided, it
could result in damage to the product or environment.
