POTENTIAL HAZARD
Allowing open flames or sparks near the battery.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Gases may explode and possibly cause injury.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
Do not allow open flames or sparks near the battery.
 NOTE: If your ATV is to be stored for an extended
period of time (more than one week of nonuse), remove
the battery from the vehicle and charge it fully. Then
store it in a cool, dry place. If the battery is to be left on
the vehicle, disconnect the negative battery terminal
lead.
 NOTE: When charging your ATV's battery, use a battery
charger designed for a sealed, maintenance-free type
battery with an output acceptable to the battery's
capacity.
 NOTE: The battery posts, terminals and related
components contain lead and lead compounds. Wash
your hands after handing these items.
PERIODIC MAINTENANCE

Battery Removal

1. Make sure the ignition switch is OFF.
2. Remove the battery hold-down and then disconnect the
battery cables (negative cable first)
3. Remove the battery from the battery compartment.
Install in the reverse order of work.
When installing the battery, first connect the positive [+]
cable and then the negative [-] cables to avoid an electrical
short circuit.
