Fill the Gas Tank

Always full the ATV gas tank in a well-ventilates area.
Never add gasoline to the gas tank near any open flames or
with the engine running or hot.
DO NOT SMOKE while filling the gas tank.
Since gasoline expands as its temperature increase, the gas
tank on your ATV should only be filled to its rated capacity.
Expansion room must be maintained in the tank particularly if
the tank is filled with cold gasoline and the ATV is then moved
to a warm area.
Allow the ATV's engine to cool before filling the gas tank. Care
must be taken not to overfill the tank. If overfilled, gas may leak
onto the engine creating a fire hazard.
Do not spill or overflow gasoline when filling gas tank. This
will greatly increase the risk of a fire hazard. Always allow
the engine to cool before filling the gas tank.
Do not over fill the gas tank.
Tighten the tank cap securely after filling the ATV's gas tank.
PRE-RIDE INSPECTION
POTENTIAL HAZARD
Improper care when refueling.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Fuel can spill, which can cause a fire and result in severe injury.
Fuel Expands when it heats up; if the fuel tank is over- filled,
fuel could spill out due to heat from the engine.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
As noted on the previous page, do not overfill the fuel tank. Be
careful not to spill fuel, especially on the engine or exhaust
system. Wipe dry any spilled fuel immediately. After fueling,
make sure the fuel cap is closed securely.
Do not refuel right after the engine has been running and is
very hot.
