Before shifting, you must stop the ATV and return the
throttle lever to its fully closed position so the engine
speed will settle to the specified idle speed. Otherwise, the
transmission may be damaged.
POTENTIAL HAZARD
Operating your ATV with an improperly adjusted drive mode
select lever.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
You may lose control of the transmission shifting, which could
lead to an accident.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
Make sure that the neutral indicator lamp illuminates when the
drive mode select lever is moved into the "N" position, and that
it comes on before starting the engine.
PRE-RIDE INSPECTION
Check the operation of the drive mode select lever before
starting the engine.
1. Make sure moving the shift lever into the "N" position of
the shift guide.
2. Turn the ignition switch to "ON" and check the neutral
indicator lamp comes on.
3. If the neutral indicator lamp does not come on, then see
DRIVE MODE SELECT LEVER ADJUSTMENT.
