The computer automatically enters the hibernation if the battery level becomes lower than 5 % in the modern standby (sleep) state.

Since the sleep mode of this computer supports the modern standby mode, the battery consumption in sleep mode is large. Connect the AC
l
adaptor before the battery level becomes zero.

Replacing the Battery Pack

The battery pack is a consumable item so the replacement will be necessary. If the battery operation time becomes noticeably short and not recovered
even after recalibrating the battery, replace with a new battery.
I M P ORTANT
The battery pack is not charged when you first purchase it. Be sure to charge it before using for the first time. Charging
l
starts automatically when the AC adaptor is connected to the computer.
Use only the specified battery pack with your computer. The VZSU1TU/FZ-VZSU1UU series battery pack cannot be used in
l
models with FZ-VZSU1VU series, or the FZ-VZSU1VU series battery pack cannot be used in models with VZSU1TU/FZ-
VZSU1UU series, either.
If the computer is wet, wipe them off and open the cover. Make sure to dry off the computer, replace/remove the battery
l
pack.

When 5 minutes elapse after removing the battery pack in sleep, the sleep mode will be released.
If the built-in bridge battery is deteriorated, the battery replacement time may be shortened.
NOTE

If the built-in bridge battery has enough remaining power, you can replace the battery pack without turning off the com-
puter (Hot swap) and during sleeping the computer (Warm swap).
When replacing the battery pack after turning off the computer
1. Turn off the computer.
Do not use the sleep function.
2. <For tablet> Turn your computer over.
Make sure no foreign objects are under the computer.
Depending on the models, the shape of battery pack may differ.
3. Slide the detach lock (A) to the unlocked position.
4. While sliding the battery latch (B) with the detach lock (A), lift the battery pack (C).
