16. Lighting: this illuminates the work area using LED tech-
nology.
17. Cutter power switch: for starting or stopping cutter rota-
tion.
18. Plug: for connection to a power supply.

The plug is fitted with a 6 A/220 V fuse
that protects against any potential
faults in the electrical circuit.
19. Master switch: for switching the machine on or off.

4.5 COMPONENTS AND FUNCTIONAL PARTS

4.5.1 Cutter and tracer replacement
To release the cutter or tracer, simply loosen the set screw on
the tool chuck and remove the cutter or tracer by pulling it
downwards.
When inserting the new tool (cutter or tracer), make sure to
push it all the way in to the tool chuck.
4.5.2 Cutter speed
There is a switch on the side of the machine with two pos-
sible positions ("0" and "I"), which is used to activate cutter
rotation:
0 = Cutter stopped
I = Cutter rotating
4.5.3 Locking the carriage assembly on the X axis
Locking the carriage assembly on the X axis is recommended
for making cuts or dimples in a straight line.
Move the corresponding lever to lock/unlock the carriage
assembly on this axis.
4.5.4 Tracer spring action system
There are two different ways to use the tracer based on
the task to be performed (with the spring action system or
locked in place):
Tracer with spring action system. The tracer spring action
system is only used for cutting dimple keys.
To activate the tracer spring action system, simply loosen
the corresponding handle. The tracer tip is positioned slightly
below its adjusted position with regard to the cutter. This
position lets you gently insert the tracer into the holes on the

original key before the cutter starts cutting the blank. This
prevents any vibration or sudden movement by the carriage
assembly.
Tracer locked in place. The tracer is locked in place for cu-
tting keys that require carriage assembly movements. It is
mostly used this way to cut laser keys.
4.5.5 Vertical adjustment of the tracer
Every time the cutter-tracer set is changed, these tools will
need to be adjusted vertically. Follow the steps below to
secure the machine:
See Figures 4A and 4B
- Secure the cutter and tracer into their respective tool chuc-
ks. Make sure they are secured properly by pushing them all
the way in.
- Secure two identical blank keys into the clamps.
- Enable the tracer spring action system.
- Turn the tracer regulator approximately one rotation cloc-
kwise so that the tip of the tracer is positioned lower than the
tip of the cutter.
- Start turning the cutter by pressing the corresponding
switch.
- Lower the head so that the tip of the tracer touches a
point somewhere in the middle of the key blade with a force
similar to that which will be subsequently used during the
cutting process.
- While maintaining that pressure from the tracer on the key,
slowly rotate the tracer regulator anti-clockwise until the tip
of the cutter brushes against the key.
