5. OPERATION AND FUNCTIONS

5.1 CUTTING PROCESS
1. Turn the machine on by using the master switch located
on the rear of the machine.
2. The LEDs will come on automatically to improve visibility
in the work area.
3. Consult the table included at the end of this manual to
select the right cutter and tracer for cutting the key.
4. Change the cutter and tracer.
5. Secure the original key on the left-hand side of the clamp
and the blank on the right. The following should be conside-
red with securing the keys:
- KEY STOPPING TECHNIQUE: Keys may have a
SHOULDER stop or a TIP stop.
See Figures 5A and 5B
- ADAPTER: A specific adapter may be required for
certain key models.
6. Adjust the tracer vertically as explained in other sections
of this manual.
7. Activate the systems that facilitate the cutting process:
- TRACER: Enable or disable the tracer spring action
system based on the type of key to be cut.
- CARRIAGE ASSEMBLY: Depending on the key model,
you may want to enable the carriage assembly lock
system on the X axis.
8. Start cutter rotation by using the switch located on the
right-hand side of the machine.
9. Cut the key.

5.2 KEY CUTTING

5.2.1 SEA-1 key
See Figure 6
- Use this cutter-tracer set: F-3 / P-3.
- The key is secured in the clamp using the "SHOULDER
stop" technique.
- Adjust the tracer vertically.
- You will need to lock the tracer in place (disable the spring
action system).
- Insert the tracer into the blade channel on the key and lock
the machine head.
- If the tip of the tracer brushes against the bottom of the
blade channel on the key, raise the tracer slightly.
- Enter the channel from the right and leave from the left.
No pressure needs to be applied. Simply rest the tracer
against the sides of the channel.
- Use the F-1 / P-1 cutter-tracer set for cutting the side dim-
ples. Use the "SHOULDER stop" technique and enable the
tracer spring action system.
5.2.2 OP-WH.P and OP-WY.P keys
See Figure 7
- Use this cutter-tracer set: F-11 / P-11.
- The key is secured in the clamp using the "TIP stop" techni-
que.
- Adjust the tracer vertically.
- You will need to lock the tracer in place (disable the spring
action system).
- Insert the tracer into the blade channel on the key and lock
the machine head.
- If the tip of the tracer brushes against the bottom of the
blade channel on the key, raise the tracer slightly.
- We recommend making one initial pass and then another
finishing pass over the entire key profile. The key should be
cut from the key tip towards the key grip.
5.2.3 HU-HAA.P key
See Figure 8
- Use this cutter-tracer set: F-11 / P-11.
- Secure the key in the part of the clamp exclusively designed
for securing HU-HAA.P keys, using the "SHOULDER stop"
technique.
- Adjust the tracer vertically.
- You will need to lock the tracer in place (disable the spring
action system).
- Insert the tracer into the blade channel on the key and lock
the machine head.
- If the tip of the tracer brushes against the bottom of the
blade channel on the key, raise the tracer slightly.
- Enter the channel from the right and leave from the left.
No pressure needs to be applied. Simply rest the tracer
against the sides of the channel.
5.2.4 BM-6.P key
See Figure 9
- Use this cutter-tracer set: F-11 / P-11.
- Secure the key in the part of the clamp exclusively designed
for securing HU-HAA.P keys, using the "TIP stop" technique.
- Adjust the tracer vertically.
- You will need to lock the tracer in place (disable the spring
action system).
- Insert the tracer into the blade channel on the key and lock
the machine head.
- If the tip of the tracer brushes against the bottom of the
blade channel on the key, raise the tracer slightly.
- Enter the channel from the right and leave from the left.
No pressure needs to be applied. Simply rest the tracer
against the sides of the channel.
5.2.5 ME-4.P, ME-6.P, ME-7.P and ME-8.P keys

- Use this cutter-tracer set: F-11 / P-11.
