6. MAINTENANCE

The MOVE key cutting machine requires no particular main-
tenance plan. Nonetheless, certain parts should be checked
regularly and eventually replaced once they become worn.
This particularly applies to the cutters.
Maintenance operations should be carried out by qualified
professionals with the necessary protective equipment for
working safely. The instructions provided in this manual
should be followed carefully when performing any main-
tenance tasks and the following instructions should be
followed in general:
1.
The machine should be switched off
and disconnected from the power
supply before starting any mainte-
nance operations. The operator should
make sure that nobody can access the
machine.
2.
Do not perform any maintenance
operations while the machine is in
operation.
3.
Original spare parts should always be
used. The CE mark is only guaranteed
when original spare parts supplied by
the manufacturer are used.
4.
After replacing a component, make
sure that the corresponding screws are
in their correct position.
5.
NEVER USE COMPRESSED AIR! We
recommend using the small brush
supplied with the machine for keeping
the clamps and carriage assembly free
from metallic swarf.
6.
We recommend using protective oil
(WD40 or similar) to protect the metal
parts of the machine against oxida-
tion, applying it to the clamps.
6.1 CLAMP REPLACEMENT
See Figure 16
Follow the steps below to do this:
1.
Switch off the machine and unplug the
power cord.
1) Remove the cutter (10) and tracer (11) from the machine to
give yourself more space to work.
2) Unscrew and remove the two clamp handles (8) to access
the clamp securing screws.
3) Unscrew the two screws (T1) and remove the clamp (7) by
carefully pulling it upwards.
4) To mount the new clamp, follow the same steps but in
reverse.
.
6.2 CLAMP ADJUSTMENT
See Figure 17
The machine leaves the factory with the clamp (7) pre-ad-
justed so no subsequent adjustments are needed. If the
clamp is replaced with another in the future, we recommend
adjusting the orientation of the new clamp. Follow the steps
below to do so:
1.
Switch off the machine and unplug the
power cord.
1) Take two tools (e.g. F-1 and P-1) and secure them in their
corresponding tool chucks but upside down. In other words,
with their points inside the chuck.
2) Unscrew and remove the two clamp handles (8) to access
the clamp securing screws.
3) Make sure that the two clamp screws (T1) are loose.
4) Lower the head and use the handle (6) to lock it in a posi-
tion where the ends of the tools are slightly below the clamp.
5) Rest the sides of the cutter (10) and tracer (11) on the side
of the clamp (7).
6) Tighten the two screws (T1) while keeping the clamp in this
position.
6.3 TIGHTENING AND REPLACING THE BELT
See Figure 18
To check the belt (A) tension or to replace the belt, follow the
steps below:
