2. Turn on the UPS without utility power supply (in Battery mode)
1) Make sure that the battery breaker is in the "ON" position (only for Long Run models).
2) Press the "ON" button to set up the power supply for the UPS, the UPS will enter power on mode. After
initialization, the UPS will enter No Output mode, then press and hold the "ON" button for 0.5 seconds for the
UPS to activate, and the buzzer will sound once.
3) A few seconds later, the UPS will turn on and enter Battery mode.
3. Connect the device to the UPS
After the UPS is turned on, you can connect the device to the UPS.
1) Turn on the UPS first and then turn on the devices one after another, the LCD panel will display the
total load level.
2) If it is necessary to connect an inductive load such as a printer, the in-rush current should be carefully
calculated to see if it meets the capacity of the UPS, since the power consumption of this type of load is
too large
3) If the UPS is overloaded, the buzzer will sound twice every second.
4) When the UPS is overloaded, immediately remove some of the load. It is recommended to have the
total load connected to the UPS less than 80% of its nominal power capacity to prevent overload for
system safety
5) If the overload time exceeds the acceptable time stated in the specification on AC mode, the UPS will
automatically transfer to Bypass mode. After the excess overload is released, it will return to AC mode. If
the overload time exceeds the acceptable time listed in the specifications in Battery mode, the UPS status
will show a fault status. At this time, if bypass is enabled, the UPS will power the load through the bypass.
If the bypass function is disabled or the input power is unstable and passes the acceptable range, then
the output will be directly stopped.
4. Battery charging
1) Once the UPS is connected to the mains, the battery charges automatically except in Battery mode or
during the battery self-test.
2) Recommend charging the battery at least 10 hours before use. Otherwise, the backup time may be
shorter than expected.
3) Make sure the battery number setting on the control board (Please see section 3-4-12 for detailed
settings) is consistent with the real connection
4) The charging current can be changed from 1A to 6A via LCD or software. Make sure the charging
current matches the battery specifications.
5. Battery mode operation
1) When the UPS is in Battery mode, the buzzer will sound according to different battery capacities. If the
battery capacity is more than 25%, the buzzer will sound once every 4 seconds; If the battery voltage
drops to the alarm level level, the buzzer will sound quickly (once every second) to alert the user that the
battery is at a low level and the UPS will automatically shut down in the near future. Users can turn off
some non-critical loads to disable shutdown alarms and extend backup time (the UPS will automatically
disconnect the programmable output terminal when the programmable timer function is activated). If no
more loads are turned off at that time, you should turn off all loads as soon as possible to protect the
device or save data. Otherwise, there is a risk of data loss or anything else on load.
2) In Battery mode, if the buzzer sound interferes, the user can press the Mute button to disable the
buzzer.
3) The backup time of long-run models depends on the capacity of the external battery.
4) Backup time may vary from ambient temperature and different load types
5) When setting the backup time for 16.5 hours (the standard value of the LCD panel), after 16.5 hours are
up, the UPS will automatically turn off to protect the battery. This battery discharge protection can be
turned on or off via the LCD control panel. (See 3-7 LCD settings section)
6. Turn off the UPS with utility electrical power supply in AC mode
1) Turn off the UPS inverter by pressing the "OFF" button for at least 0.5 seconds, and then the buzzer will sound
once. The UPS will change to Bypass mode.
2) NOTE 1: If the UPS has been set to enable output bypass, it will cut voltage from the mains power to the
sockets and output terminals even if you have turned off the UPS (inverter).
3) NOTE 2: After turning off the UPS, please be aware that the UPS works on Bypass mode and has a risk of
losing power for connected devices.
4) In Bypass mode, the UPS output voltage is still present. To cut output, turn off the input breaker and bypass
the breaker (only available for 30KVA models). A few seconds later, no display is displayed on the display panel
and the UPS finishes turning off.
