Step 13. Commission the System

Commissioning Overview
Connect to the Gateway: The first step in commissioning is to connect to the Gateway, which
then allows you to set up Internet connectivity and configure the system.
Establish the system Internet connection: Powerwall must be connected to the Internet in
order to receive firmware updates and transmit performance data. Internet connectivity is
handled by the Gateway, and can be established over an Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Cellular network.
Configure system settings: The Gateway has a browser-based Commissioning Wizard that
guides you through system configuration.
Commissioning Procedure
1. Using a computer, smartphone, or tablet, establish communication with the Gateway in one
of following ways:
Ethernet
Connect a computer to the Ethernet port of the Gateway with a standard Cat 5 or
Cat 6 Ethernet cable
Launch a browser and enter the following IP address: http://192.168.90.2
Wi-Fi
Using a Wi-Fi capable computer, tablet, or phone, locate the Gateway Wi-Fi network,
which appears as "TEG-xxxx," where xxxx are the last 4 digits of the Gateway serial
number
Wi-Fi Password: Enter the full serial number of the Gateway (such as "ST17C0000112")
Launch a browser/app and enter the following IP address: http://192.168.2.1
NOTE: If the Gateway Wi-Fi network doesn't appear or the connection to the Gateway fails,
power cycle the Gateway and try connecting again.
2. Once communication is established, the browser should show the login page to the
Commissioning Wizard. If it does not, click Run Wizard.
3. Log into the Commissioning Wizard:
Username: Enter the installer e-mail address
Password: Enter the full serial number of the Gateway (such as "ST17C0000112")
Click Continue
