Whole- or Partial-Home Backup with Two Meters
For whole- or partial-home backup installations where access to solar equipment is difficult, or
where the Backup Gateway is more than 10.5 m away from the circuit breakers for the solar
equipment (Fig. 45), use a second meter to monitor solar energy production.
• The first meter remains in the Backup Gateway. The pre-wired voltage taps and the
two pre-installed CTs in the Backup Gateway are correctly positioned for this
configuration, and do not need to be relocated.
• The second meter is installed in the solar sub board. Follow the steps in the previous
section to install the second meter and wire the voltage taps in the solar sub board.
