    • For cold climates Tesla strongly recommends installing Powerwall indoors when possible (particularly when long outages are expected). • For hot climates Tesla recommends keeping Powerwall out of direct sunlight. Installation in full sun raises the temperature inside the enclosure above ambient temperature. This temperature rise is not a safety risk, but may impact battery performance.

    Plan Internet Connection for the Backup Gateway 2 Internet connectivity is required to receive the full 10-year Powerwall warranty, and for the customer to see their system in the Tesla App. For best performance, ensure Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections are both configured during commissioning.
