3.7.5. Working with System Parameters

The HD9010TM-IRIG allows the user to control various seldom-used features and debug aids by the
use of system parameters. These parameters are grouped according to classes. Within each class,
parameters are identified by a parameter number. Each parameter has a 4 byte signed binary number
value with the default value for each parameter being zero. There are two menus item used to set the
System parameter class and number and a third menu item, to change its value. Contact the factory
before changing any System parameters from their default values.

The COM 1 BAUD RATE menu item is used to set the baud rate of the
COM 1 serial port. Turn the shaft encoder to adjust. This serial port is
used to broadcast IRIG time and day in an IRIG CS-6 compatible
format. See section 4.3.2.1 for details of the IRIG CS-6 data output
format. Note that the setting of this menu item does not affect the
firmware upgrade baud rate. See section 4.2.2.
The AUXCOM BAUD RATE menu item is used to set the baud rate of
the AUX COM serial port. (On earlier versions of the HD9010TM-IRIG
this serial port was labelled COM 2.) Turn the shaft encoder to adjust.
This serial port is used to connect to metadata sources for encoding of
metadata into the VANC data area of the HDTV signal. Contact the
factory for further information.
This menu sets the system parameter class for the parameter value
