14. Switch the power OFF, then disconnect power and lock it out (Section 2.2 Power Lockout
Procedure).
15. Using the 3/16 hex drive L-wrench, screw the knife adjusters down a small amount at a time on
each side, until the knife cuts through the bottom sheets of paper in all three areas – left, right,
and center (Figure 18).
16. Once all three strips have been cut through, turn the adjustment screws 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn further
to make sure the knife cuts completely through large piles of paper.
17. Restore power to the machine, switch the power ON, and switch the Knife Adjust Switch to the
"Run" mode. Send the knife and clamp up by pressing both cut buttons briefly.
18. Once the knife and clamp are up, switch the power OFF, then disconnect power and lock it out
(Section 2.2 Power Lockout Procedure).
19. Tighten all five knife bolts securely.
20. Once again restore power to the machine and switch the power ON.
21. Make a test cut through a full stack of paper and re-adjust the depth if necessary by repeating
steps 11 through 20. NOTE: If the knife fails to cut through in the center area of the table only, it
may be necessary to place a 1/2"/6mm strip of paper or two in the table slot beneath the cut stick,
in the area where the knife doesn't cut through.
22. Send the dull knife to a knife grinder. Do not attempt to sharpen your own knives! See the Knife
Care Tips Section that follows for more information about knives including the recommended
knife bevel angle.
