6. Remove the rod linkage from the sensor arm and measure 1/2" back from the mark.
7. Before cutting the rod, thread the jam nut back on the rod. Use the nut to debur the rod
8. Cut the rod cover 5/8" shorter than the rod length with the rod assembled on one end
9. Assemble linkage back together, and fasten it to the sensor arm and lower mounting
