5.6 Connecting the dispenser
Preparing conductors
You must prepare the individual conductors in order to connect them properly. Proceed as
follows:
Observe the five safety rules according to DIN EN 50110-1:2013
Working on live parts can result in severe injuries and death. Only work on the electrical
equipment when it is in a de-energized state.
1. Select an M8 cable lug with a maximum width of 32 mm for the used conductor cross-
section.
As an example from the company Klauke:
– Mount 11SG8 for cables up to 185 mm
– Mount 12SG10 for cables up to 240 mm
– Mount 13SG10 for cables up to 300 mm
2. Shorten the conductors to the final length.
3. Strip the insulation from the end of the conductor so that the remaining insulation
extends up to the cable lug.
4. Slide a shrink-on sleeve over the wire.
5. Fasten the cable lug correctly to the end of the conductor.
6. Pull the shrink-on sleeve over the joint and heat it up.
Connecting the conductors
Connect the protective conductor first before connecting the remaining conductors. To do
this, proceed as follows:
1. Fasten the conductors according to the "Connections for the dispenser cables" figure with
an M8 fastening nut and a tightening torque of 40 Nm.
2. Mark the tightened connections, for example, with a red paint stick.
3. If necessary, insulate the cable lug sleeve to maintain the minimum clearance and
creepage distance.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 for each conductor.
5. Replace the protective cover after you have connected all conductors.
