• Half-Duplex: Absolute A encoders (2-wire)
The A channel first transmits a Clock signal and
then switches to a receiver to receive data from
the encoder
• Full-Duplex: SSI, BiSS, EnDat encoders (4-wire)
The X channel sends the Clock signal to the
encoder, which initiates data transmission to the
A-channel
