Application
Single command, 16 signals (SINGLECMD) is a common function and always included in the IED.
The IEDs may be provided with a function to receive commands either from a substation
automation system or from the local HMI. That receiving function block has outputs that can be
used, for example, to control high voltage apparatuses in switchyards. For local control functions,
the local HMI can also be used. Together with the configuration logic circuits, the user can govern
pulses or steady output signals for control purposes within the IED or via binary outputs.

normally carried out by sending a pulse to the binary outputs of the IED. Figure

condition.
