NOTE:This Troubleshooting Chapter presents problems, causes and suggested remedies beyond the
extent of loose, worn or missing parts and it was developed with
otherwise good operating condition.
PROBLEM
1.) Material NOT
discharging from
expeller.
2.) Auger will not turn.
3.) Expeller not turning.
4.) Chains are jumping drive
sprocket teeth.
5.) Excessive chain and/or
sprocket wear.
6.) Drive chain(s) will NOT
stay properly tensioned.
7.) Uniformity of spread or
discharge rate not
acceptable.
TROUBLESHOOTING
CAUSE
Discharge gate is NOT open.
Expeller is NOT operating.
Expeller is obstructed.
Auger is not turning.
Drive chain not on sprocket.
Drive chain not on sprocket.
Inadequate chain tension.
Spocket teeth or chains
excessively worn.
Sprockets are NOT properly
aligned.
Tensioner spring(s) NOT
properly adjusted.
Idler pivot arm(s) binding.
Tensioner spring(s) broken or
stretched.
Difficult to spread material.

Open gate.

Activate gate to free obstruction.

Reinstall/Replace chain.
Sprockets MUST be properly aligned.
