    Stay clear of hydraulic lines, they may be under extreme pressure or heat. Stay clear of the machine when raising/lowering the pickup head, positioning the pole, or changing the pickup width on the TWM9. For transport, always make sure that the pick-up head transport lock valve is securely locked.

    SET-UP & ASSEMBLY NOTE: Determine right or left side of the Windrow Merger by viewing it from the rear. If instructions or parts lists call for hardened bolts, refer to bolt torque chart. 1. Assemble the Windrow Merger or check the Windrow Merger for proper assembly and adjustment. Make sure that all bolts are tightened.

    TRANSPORTING TOWING ON HIGHWAY Follow state and local regulations when towing farm equipment on public highways. Never tow the Windrow Merger on a public highway at a speed greater than 20 m.p.h. (32 kph). TRANSPORT LOCKS There are three transport locks on the merger. All locks should be used when transporting the unit, and must be in the open or storage position when operating the merger.

    PREPARING FOR OPERATION Before first operation, check the entire Merger over carefully . Tighten bolts, set screws, and chains that might have come loose in handling. Lubricate as explained in the Lubrication Guide. TRACTOR SET UP 1. Set the drawbar should be set up at least 17 inches off the ground. The drawbar may need to be “flipped”.
  • Page 17 PREPARING FOR OPERATION MERGER DRAWBAR & PTO INSTALLATION 1. Slide the Merger drawbar extension onto the tractor drawbar. 2. Install the hitch pin (B) and rotate the pin lock (C) over hitch pin. 3. Tighten the 3/4” nuts to 150 ft. lbs. (204N-m). The nuts will secure the pin lock and hold the extension tight to the drawbar.

For use in gear pumps (open center) circuits, a con- version is required. The valve outlet section has a “T” port, as shown in Fig.

    OPERATION CROSS CONVEYOR TheTwin Merger can be set up to merge hay to the right, left, or right and left.This can be done by moving the toggle switches on the control box. These switches cannot be moved from one direction to the other in one continuous motion.

    ADJUSTMENTS PICKUP ADJUSTMENTS To adjust the pickup belts: 1. Loosen the 3 bearing bracket bolts. 2. Adjust the take up bolt located on both ends of the pickup bottom idler roller making sure that each side is adjusted to the same distance. Proper belt tension will be achieved when the tighter of the 2 outer belts has a maximum of 1-1/2”...

    SERVICE DAILY SERVICE Cleaning It is a good practice to clean the entire Twin Merger at the end of each day. Getting the chaff and crop off the Twin Merger when it is dry will save the appearance and finish of the merger. It also gives the operator a opportunity to check the machine up close to keep it operating properly.

    OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT ACCELERATOR ROLLER The optional accelerator is a attachment that is needed when merging windrow cuts larger than 16’. The accelerator gently moves the crop over the additional distance needed for the larger windrow cuts. HYDRAULIC BRAKES After engaging the PTO, the Hydraulic Brakes are automatically released for field operation.
