Journeyman Ductable Oil Indirect-Fired Heater
Troubleshooting
Problem
Green light ON, GeniSys board status light is
flashing red.
Green light ON, GeniSys board status light is
solid red.
Green light ON, burner motor does not start
Main motor does not come ON after heating
heat exchanger.
Solenoid opens, but fuel oil not detected or
ignited
Solenoid opens, fuel is detected, but no
ignition
Ignition occurs, then goes out

Solution
GeniSys board is in softlock out, See p. 13 on how to reset the
board.
GeniSys board is in hardlock out, See p. 13 on how to reset the
board.
GeniSys board is lockout, reset board. See p.13 on how to reset
board
The selector switch is in the OFF position.
If thermostat is connected select THERMOSTAT on selector
switch and, set thermostat above room temperature.
Auto high limit switches may have tripped. Allow switches to
cool down to auto reset.
Main motor delay is NORMAL. Time will vary base on ambient
temperature.
Defective fan switch
Defective motor relay
Main motor wiring connection issue
Defective main motor
Open all manual shut-off valves
Check pump pressure
No fuel
Defective pump coupler
Defective fuel pump
Defective burner motor
Check ignition transformer springs
Check igniter gap
Defective ignition transformer
Check cad cell for defect or crack
Check cad cell connection
Check cad cell location
Ground fault issue
Improper electrical wire gauge size
