Start-Up Instructions

For initial start-up after heater installation, follow steps
1-5. For normal start-up, set the thermostat above room
temperature or set selector switch to the manual ( I )
position.
• Do not exceed input rating stamped on nameplate or
manufacturer's recommended pump pressure for the
nozzle used. Make certain that the primary air supply
to main burner is open and free of dust, dirt, and
debris for complete, proper combustion.
1. Follow all ventilation and safety information.
2. Fill tank with fuel.
3. This heater is wired with a ground connection for
your protection against electrical shock hazard. The
heater must be connected directly to a properly wired
and grounded electrical supply. Minimum breaker
size of 15 amp is required.
4. The burner motor will start and perform a 45 seconds
pre-purge. The igniter will spark during the pre-purge.
5. After the pre-purge, the igniter will continue to spark
and the oil valve will get energized, and ignition will
occur.
6. The burner will continue to operate to heat the heat
exchanger. The main motor will not start right away.
7. The main motor is wired in series with the fan switch,
which will delay the operation of the main motor.
This delay will vary base upon the incoming ambient
temperature.
8. Once the fan switch is engaged, the main motor will
be energized.
Off O
Position the selector switch to the midpoint ( O )
position. The heater burner will shut off but the main
motor will continue to operate until the fan switch cools
down. The cool down period (post purge) will vary
depending on the ambient temperature. See Shut-Down
instructions for proper shut-down procedure.
