Microsoft—Polycom Environment Setting
Configuring for Office Communicator
Multipoint Conference Capacity/Scalability
2-40
Currently, the maximum number of Office Communicator users that can
connect to one IP+48 card using the SIP-CX protocol is 24. However, if
your MCU includes more than one IP card, or if you want to use several
MCUs in your configuration to increase system capacity, additional
considerations may be required when configuring the Microsoft–Polycom
environment. Figure 2-1 shows an example of such configuration.
This configuration applies only to SIP-CX conferencing scenarios. Office
Communicator users joining a conference by selecting the ongoing conference,
Meeting Room or Entry Queue from the Contacts list do not have the limitations
described in this section and can use the MGC unit's full capacity.

Microsoft–Polycom configuration for capacity
In Figure 2-1, the Office Communicator users are divided into groups,
where the number of groups depends on the number of IP cards installed
in the MCU or the number of MCUs to be used for conferencing. For each
group, a separate group Meeting Rooms is created, naming the Meeting
Rooms with the same prefix. For example, if there are two groups, two
groups of Meeting Rooms are created using the prefixes 001 and 002:
001MR1, 001MR2.....001MR250 and 002MR1, 002MR2.....002MR250.
