Installation and Use
MINIMUM substrate thickness requirements:
• Wood: 3½" (total combined). DO NOT install on substrates other than wood.
Fastener requirements:
• (5) 1/4" x 3" steel hex head lag screws. -OR-
• (6) 16d nails. Minimum required nail head diameter: 11/32". Note that installation with nails is compliant
with OSHA regulations only.
Compatible roof pitch:
• 0/12 - vertical/sheer. Never install past sheer (such as on underside of beam).
Prior to installation, plan your system:
1. Determine installation location of Bull Ring Anchor; ensure location is free of debris, rot, decay, cracking,
and hazardous materials. Ensure selected installation location is a MINIMUM 2' from all leading edges. Ensure
Bull Ring Anchor will lie flush with substrate. If unable to determine suitable installation location, consult
jobsite Qualified Person.
2. Make considerations for eliminating or minimizing all swing fall hazards.
3. Ensure all fasteners are those supplied by Guardian Fall Protection, or are deemed compatible with Bull
Ring Anchor by a Competent Person.
4. The Bull Ring Anchor is rated for loading in any direction provided it is installed as prescribed. Suitable for
use in HLL applications; HLL must be installed perpendicular to long side of Bull Ring Anchor.
Installation:
1. To install, use either nails OR screws specified above. Fasteners must be fully embedded in substrate. Use
proper fastener holes, shown below.
2. DO NOT apply torque to fasteners.
3. Bull Ring Anchor is suitable for multiple installation applications. New fasteners MUST be used for each new
installation application.
4. Prior to each new installation, ensure Bull Ring Anchor is not damaged or warped by previous use. If any
damage or defects are found, IMMEDIATELY remove Bull Ring Anchor from service.
5. Attach complete and compatible PFAS to Bull Ring Anchor connection point.
