Children in the vehicle

If children are travelling in the vehicle:
secure each child using a child re-
straint system which is appropriate to
his/her age and size, and which has
been approved for Mercedes-Benz ve-
hicles, preferably on a suitable rear
seat
make sure that the children are
strapped in throughout the journey
You can obtain child seats and information
about the correct child restraint system
from any Mercedes-Benz Service Centre.
Risk of injury
Do not leave children unsupervised in the
vehicle, even if they are secured in a child
restraint system. The children could:
injure themselves on parts of the vehicle
press the central locking button, there-
by releasing the child-proof locks, and
then open the doors. They could injure
themselves or others, or they could get
out of the vehicle and injure themselves
or be injured by passing vehicles
be seriously or fatally injured due to long
periods of exposure to high tempera-
tures

Mercedes-Benz recommends that you only
use the child restraint systems listed on
( page 63).
Risk of injury
To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injuries
to children in the event of an accident, sharp
braking or sudden change in direction:
always secure children less than 1.50 m
tall or under twelve years of age in a spe-
cial child restraint system fitted on a
suitable seat in the vehicle, as they can-
not wear the seat belts properly
