You cannot make another call using the
telephone* while connected to the
emergency service centre.
If the indicator lamp lights up constantly
without a voice connection having first
been established, this means that the sys-
tem has been unable to transmit an emer-
gency call. The following message appears
in the multi-function display:
EMERGENCY CALL CALL FAILED
You must then initiate your own rescue
measures.
Prerequisites
TeleAid is available in the country you
are in.
A Mercedes-Benz Service Centre has
commissioned TeleAid.
You have a contract with a telephone
provider and the TeleAid service.
You have a valid telephone card.
You have a valid PIN for your telephone
card.
You are authorised to use TeleAid.
The relevant mobile phone network is
available (with SMS service). In Germa-
ny this is D1 or D2.
The vehicle can receive the GPS sig-
nals.
The emergency call system is opera-
tional.

The emergency call system is a public sys-
tem. Misuse is a punishable offence.
The emergency call button is located in the
overhead control panel.
