Automatic transmission

The transmission shifts up, even if the
shift range has been restricted, if the
maximum engine speed for the shift
range is reached and you continue to
accelerate. The engine could otherwise
overrev.

If the transfer case is in the LOW off-
road position, the automatic transmis-
sion will not shift up automatically
when it reaches the engine speed limit
for that range. There is a danger of en-
gine damage.
It must be ensured that the permissible
engine speed is not exceeded.

The shift range changes to the currently
engaged gear if you press and hold the se-
lector lever to the right or left.
The automatic transmission

shifts as far as fourth gear on-
ly.
The automatic transmission
è
shifts as far as third gear only.
The braking effect of the en-
gine can be utilised in this po-
sition.
Nur fuer internen Gebrauch
The automatic transmission
ç
shifts as far as second gear
only. For braking on steep
downhill gradients and for
driving:
on steep mountain roads
in mountainous terrain
in arduous driving condi-
tions
The automatic transmission
æ
only works in first gear.
For braking on extremely
steep downhill gradients and
long downhill mountain roads.
