Installing the I/O modules

I/O modules are installed in the system from the factory, but they can be removed to lower the weight of the enclosure to
aid in installation. If you do not need to remove any system components for this purpose, proceed to Installing the cable
management arm.
WARNING: Install the I/O module in the correct orientation. Make sure that the connector pins in the J2000 are
straight and ready to align into the connector holes in the I/O module. Never force the module into the J2000.
Contact Hewlett Packard Enterprise if a pin or data connector is damaged. Do not attempt to straighten pins, which
can cause further damage.
By default, I/O module 1 (IOM 1) is installed in the left I/O slot and I/O module 2 (IOM 2) is installed in the right slot.
Procedure
1. Make sure that the I/O module lock bar is in the down, locked position.
2. With one hand supporting the bottom of the I/O module, slide the I/O module into the appropriate empty slot on the
rear of the J2000.
3. Push the I/O module until the lock bar engages and the I/O module is flush with the face of the J2000.
Never force the module into place.
4. Push the lock bar on the I/O module into the J2000 enclosure.
5. Tighten the thumbscrew to secure the I/O module in place.
6. Install the appropriate cables into their corresponding ports on the I/O module operator panel.
