2-1 CPU/CPU cooling Fan Installation on Socket 939

This mainboard is designed typically for barebone system in which a
CPU cooling fan may also be enclosed along. If you are going to set up
the 939-pin CPU into this new barebone system, you have to remove
the enclosed cooling fan first.
1. Remove an onboard
Socket 939 cooling fan.
Unplug fan power.
CPU Fan power
cable must be set
at PCI slot side.
3. CPU inserted, CPU Pin 1
must be set to Socket 939
Pin 1.
CPU Pin 1 to Socket Pin 1.
First pull away
both the pad and
the plastic plate
on the heat sink.
Pull up the latch to
release buckles.
Release 4 buckles
from Socket.
5. Install cooling fan into Fan Base now.
Chapter 2 Hardware Setup
2. Socket 939 being exposed,
pull up the lever to release
socket lock and insert CPU.
Socket 939
Pin 1 position
4. Now, pull down the Lever to
fix down CPU to Socket 939.
Pull down Lever to fix CPU.

Second, apply
some heat glue
either to heat
sink or to CPU
back.
