Adjusting the Self-Propel Lever
Whenever you install a new self-propel cable or if the self-propel drive is out of adjustment, adjust the self-
propel drive.
1. Turn the adjustment nut counterclockwise to loosen the cable adjustment. Figure 29.
2. Adjust the tension on the self-propel drive cable by pulling it back or pushing it forward and holding that
position. Figure 29.
Note: Push the cable toward the motor to increase the traction; pull the cable away from the motor to
decrease the traction.
3. Turn the adjustment nut clockwise to tighten the cable adjustment.
Note: Tighten the nut firmly with a socket or wrench.
Preparing the Battery Pack for Recycling
Important: The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. Upon removal, cover the terminals of the
battery pack with heavy-duty adhesive tape. Do not attempt to destroy or disassemble the battery pack
or remove any of its components.
Batteries are to be removed from the machine and safely disposed of. Contact your local council or your
authorised Hayter dealer for more information on how to responsibly recycle the battery.
Securing Nuts and Bolts
Regularly check that all securing nuts and bolts are tight. Replace missing or damaged items immediately.
Rear Deflector
WARNING: Improper maintenance, use of non conforming replacement components, or the removal or
modification of the rear deflector may cause death or serious injury.
Remove grass debris from the rear deflector immediately after use and check its condition for signs of
damage.
