The netstat command
The netstat command displays current TCP/IP network connections and
protocol statistics.
Netstat command syntax
The netstat command uses the following syntax:

Description
Reloads the LMHOSTS file after purging all names from
the NetBIOS name cache.
Lists name resolution statistics for Windows networking
name resolution. On a computer configured to use WINS,
this option returns the number of names resolved and
registered through broadcast or through WINS.
Displays both client and server sessions, listing the remote
hosts by IP address only.
Displays both client and server sessions, and attempts to
convert the remote host IP address to a name using the
HOSTS file.
Displays selected statistics, pausing interval seconds
between each display. Press Ctrl+C to stop displaying
statistics. Without this parameter, nbtstat prints the current
configuration information once.
Action
Click Start → Programs → Accessories → Command Prompt to
display the command prompt window.
Result: The Command Prompt window appears.
At the prompt, type nbtstat with the required parameters.
Press Enter.
Result: The system runs the nbtstat utility.
Type Exit to exit the Command Prompt window.
