38 Chapter 4 Using the operating system online diagnostic tools
These utilities help you to verify network connectivity. Network connectivity
is essential to CallPilot operation. These utilities help you to thoroughly test
the network interface and isolate any configuration problems.
The ipconfig command
The ipconfig command displays IP configuration information.
Ipconfig default
If you run the command without flags, it displays the IP address, subnet
mask, and default gateway for each adapter bound to TCP/IP.
Ipconfig command syntax
ipconfig /[ ]
The following flags are available for the ipconfig command:

To run the ipconfig command from the operating system

Description
Displays Help information.
Displays full configuration information.
Releases the IP address for the specified adapter.
Renews the IP address for the specified adapter.
Action
Click Start → Programs → Accessories → Command Prompt to
display the command prompt window.
Result: The Command Prompt window appears.
At the prompt, type ipconfig <with appropriate
parameters>.
Example: ipconfig /all
Press Enter.
Result: The system runs the ipconfig utility.
Type Exit to exit the Command Prompt window.
