15. Remove the four hex head screws and washers securing the seat frame to the actuator
post and the seat-to-floor height bracket (if used) (Detail "H" of FIGURE 8).
16. Remove the seat frame from the actuator post and place upsidedown on a flat work
surface.
17. Take note of the mounting position of the two side rail assemblies to the manual tilt
assembly before removing the mounting hardware to ensure proper reinstallation.
18. Remove the four hex head screws and coved washers securing the two side rail
assemblies to the manual tilt assembly (Detail "I" of FIGURE 8).
19. Remove and discard the existing manual tilt assembly.
20. Position the new tilt frame upside down on the work surface between the two side rail
assemblies.
21. Insert the side rail assemblies into the new tilt frame.
22. Adjust the side rail assemblies to the mounting position noted in STEP 17.
23. Using the four hex head screws and coved washers, secure the two side rail assemblies
to the new manual tilt assembly.
24. Using the hex head screw and locknut, secure the drive lockout sensor and clamp to
the manual tilt assembly (Detail "G" of FIGURE 7).
25. Using the hex head screw and locknut, secure the elevate lockout sensor and clamp to
the manual tilt assembly (Detail "G" of FIGURE 7).
26. Turn the seat frame over and place on top of the actuator post and the seat-to-floor
height bracket (if used).
27. Using the four hex head screws and washers, secure the seat frame to the seat-to-floor
height bracket (if used) and the actuator post (Detail "H" of FIGURE 8). Torque hex
head screws to 18 ft-lbs ± 20%.
28. Using the two lower hex screws, washers and locknuts, secure the back canes to the
slot in the cane brackets (FIGURE 7).
29. Install the upper hex screw, washer and locknut through the mounting hole position
noted in STEP 7. Torque locknuts to 13 ft-lbs ± 20%.
30. Connect the drive lockout switches from the wiring harness connectors.
31. Adjust the drive lockout and elevate lockout sensors. Refer to Adjusting the Sensors
on page 23.
32. Reinstall the flip back armrest onto the wheelchair. Refer to the wheelchair owner's
manual.
33. Using tie-wraps secure the manual tilt release cables and any existing wiring to the
back canes and seat frame in the locations noted in STEP 5.
34. Position the seat pan on the seat frame.
35. Secure the seat pan to the seat frame using the two socket screws.
36. Reinstall the seat cushion.
