REPLACING THE MANUAL TILT ASSEMBLY
NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 7 on page 20 and FIGURE 8 on page 22
1. Remove the seat cushion.
2. Remove the two socket screws securing the seat pan to the seat frame (FIGURE 7).
3. Remove the seat pan from the seat frame.
4. Disconnect the two drive lockout switches from the wiring harness connectors.
5. Remove the hex head screw and locknut securing the drive lockout sensor and clamp
to the manual tilt assembly (Detail "G").
6. Remove the hex head screw and locknut securing the elevate lockout sensor and
clamp to the manual tilt assembly (Detail "G").
NOTE: Take note of position, orientation and mounting locations of the manual tilt release cables
and any existing wiring secured to the back canes, seat frame and manual tilt assembly for
reinstallation.
7. Cut tie-wraps securing the manual tilt release cables and any existing wiring to back
canes and seat frame.
8. Remove the two mounting screws and locknuts securing the two tilt release levers to
the back canes.
9. Remove the arms. Refer to the seating system owner's manual.
NOTE: Note the back angle before disassembly for proper reinstallation.
10. For proper installation, note the mounting hole position of the upper hex screw
securing the cane bracket to the back cane.
11. Remove the two upper hex screws, washers and locknuts securing the cane brackets
to the back canes.
12. Remove the two lower hex screws, washers and locknuts securing the cane brackets to
the back canes.
13. Remove the back from the wheelchair.
